Takin' in the view from Libby Hill
For a spectacular view of the James River and the city’s skyline, walk over to Libby Hill Park. It’s the view that named Richmond (after Richmond on the Thames in England). Not far from Libby Hill you will find one of Richmond's best brunches at Millie’s Diner.

Strollin' along the riverfront
Historic sites, outdoor exhibits, a canal cruise, a slave trail and Civil War center, can all be accessed from the Riverfront Canal Walk going toward Brown’s Island. Outdoor lovers can continue the journey to Belle Isle and enjoy walking and mountain biking trails, a granite wall for rock climbing or a close-up of the James’ class five rapids.
Hangin' at Kuba Kuba
For barbeque, I’d recommend Alamo or Buz and Ned’s. Ipanema has the best vegan and vegetarian friendly menu I’ve encountered. For something more ethnic, Kuba Kuba has delicious Cuban tortillas or stop over at Stella’s for modern Greek. Cary Town also has a broad array of food options (try the Daily Kitchen), people watching and boutique shopping.
Church Hill houses a bunch of new hip restaurants: The Roosevelt, Metzger or Dutch & Company. If you want some soul food you can head to Jackson Ward for Mama J’s or to Manchester or The Croaker Spot. Tarrant’s or Max's on Broad are Richmond staples that will not disappoint.
